WEEKLY UPDATES - Cancels and New Starts

LOTS OF PROGRESS THIS WEEK!

My August was spent unproductively but I think the month of September will be opposite. XD

UPDATES!

* September started not so awesome because I have to cancel a project...

I was going to create an FPS mode animation of this game: http://fenglee.com/game/aog/

Attack On Titan Tribute Game by an Independent Chinese game developer, Feng.

The game only has 3 Camera Types: Original, WOW and TPS. And since, I'm a fan of FPS(First-Person Shooter) games, I dreamt of seeing the game in first person. And to fulfill my dream, I decided to create an animation of the game in First Person.

AN FPS MOD FOR THE GAME!!!

After coming across it, I did not waste any moment and I tried it!

So yeah, if you watched the video, you'd know why I have to cancel the animated version of this game in First Person. The Mod already fulfilled my desire to see the game in First person so a project was cancelled.

BUT!

My queue of Doodle Notes projects is long so I decided to move on to the next project in mind which is....

I won't really tell you more about it except show you some photos of my progress:

The Bear Base Model in Blender(my own creation, of course)

I then dressed him up and added more details

Although, some of his 3D Maneuver Gear are still absent, he starting to look really good, right?

WEEKLY UPDATES - The Lego Me Finished!

A project is finished!

The Lego Me spent my whole August which is really inappropriate regarding how short it is.

The original idea was to transform the real me into a Lego but it proved to be difficult and I also don't have the proper camera and lighting to achieve an excellent look so I have to change it during the final weeks of the month.

 I ended up creating the video in full 3D animation instead of the transformation and used the stage that I used in the previous Fan Mode video(which is the all white environment).

I should've thought of the idea many weeks before because it only took me 1 week to finish the new idea. So yeah....A real waste of valuable time. But!

The important thing is I finished it when I was close to cancel it! XD So watch it now and tell me what you think about it. Leave a comment or something. XD

ALSO!

* No Vlog this week! I was struggling between creating the usual Vlog or just doing the Attack On Titan gameplay video and I ended up doing nothing. I actually recorded the video already but it's too crappy to be uploaded. I also have some new plans which I'm planning to share to you when it's really sure. But for now, since a project is finished, it's time to start a new one. Watch out for it!!

WEEKLY UPDATES!(August 25, 2014)

Not much progress again...

And you'll be seeing me write a lot of excuses again...XD

UPDATES!

* I was close to cancel The Lego me this week, but I change my mind. I still have 1 week til the month ends so I'm gonna finish it with a simpler idea this time. XD

One of the reasons why I attempted to cancel the project was because of this:

My laptop crashed so much for trying to achieve this look:

in Blender, this was rendered in Cycles and it looks really awesome. But! My laptop can't handle the awesomeness sp I have to sacrifice the desire of this look and just settle with the normal Blender Render and just utilizing it to achieve, maybe not as awesome as Cycles, but close enough to reach the excellent standards.

Also, another reason would be abscence of an HD camera and my ability to blend the CG into a raw footage, which is needed ofr my original idea.

I tried to make the real me to transform into a Lego me but I failed. So I changed the idea, completely removed the raw footage aspect and just settled with a full 3D animation. It lessened my time of production and I think it would be more excellent.The original idea may look really crappy because I'm running out of time and my skills in VFX are not really that high.

Another reason would be my mood....

Yes, I can't work properly if I don't have enough push to work. That's one of the challenges of working alone. You have no one to tell you to get up and work and even if self persuasion works, sometimes it doesn't. So yeah...

I was so bothered with my whole opening the bank account thing. I spent two weeks acquiring the requirements for opening a bank account, and since I don't usually go out, it was difficult for me. Facing actual people has always been my weakness. But I faced that fear and managed to open a bank account! XD

I still didn't receive a reply from the YouTube network, it hasn't been a week so I'm gonna have to wait 'til next week since they said that it takes a week or two before they could reply. O.o It kinda makes me worried but if it's for, it's for me. If not, then I'm gonna have to stick to Adsense for awhile and stick to the plan.

QUEST COMPLETED!

I just opened a bank recently! The "being part of the society" starts now!

* Not much progress this week, except for these:

Unfortunately, this animation would go to trash because it didn't look good. And it's too complicated. I'm gonna have to change the whole thing and settle with something simple. My laptop crashes so much too so I'm gonna have to sacrifice the quality in terms of the resolution of the video and focus more on the quality in terms of the pacing of the video. Pacing means how the video is sequenced. A good pacing is better than a bad one. Also I'm running out of time and I can't spend so much time in The Lego Me since The Lego Movie fever is long gone. So yeah. I have to devote myself into creating videos that has stronger chances of getting views because if not, I'll get into a big trouble....O.o And everything I've worked for til now will be wasted. So yeah. The Lego Me might be delivered to you on Saturday next week.

ALSO!! I did not have much progress this week because most of my time was consumed on completing the requirements that I need for opening a bank account. And fortunately, before the week ended, I managed to open a bank account! Now I can really save up for some filmmaking equipments! XD

WEEKLY UPDATES!(August 9, 2014)

Internet's back! For real this time!

Internet is now 100% fixed and it's back to normal...so yeah.. XD

UPDATES!

* Internet is back to normal so I may have a lot of progress next week. But this week....well.... not much. The only progress would be the finished production stage of The Lego Me! XD

I actually found time to borrow my mom's LG Optimus Vu 2 smartphone and shoot the needed shots for The Lego Me. The phone can shoot up to 1080p Full HD so expect that The Lego Me's quality will be better than the Vlogs.

I wasn't able to do more than shooting the thing because my mom was admitted to the hospital for her postponed operation. My mom's alright so you don't have to worry. :) And I thank God for it. He never fails to listen to my prayers. XD Anyways! Yeah. My mom's operation was a successful and she'll be coming out of the hospital today. :) She has ventral hernia by the way. Now it's fixed. :)

SO YEAH! 

Haven't got much progress because I was in the hospital most of the week keeping watch to my mom.

INTERNET'S DOWN AGAIN!!!!!

It's really difficult to do an internet-based job without internet....so yeah...really annoying..BUT!!

UPDATES!

* Internet is down again at home. And because I'm so pissed about it, I didn't have much progress this week....O.o All I did concerning The Lego Me is this:

The shot list for The Lego Me short. I don't really want to shoot this one with my crappy camera. I want to shoot this in HD which is not impossible really, because my mom's LG phone can shoot up to 1080p Full HD so I just have to find the perfect time to borrow it. WHICH didn't come this week because my mom was away for the whole week because of a conference or something. So yeah... Wasn't able to execute the shots in the shotlist.

* Another progress this week would be some changes for my comics Supers Academy.

WEEKLY UPDATES!(July 26, 2014)

The Internet's Back.......NOT!!!!

I thought the internet is back this morning since the internet company said that it would, but for some reason it's gone again when afternoon comes....so.........yeah..........

UPDATES!

* Not much progress on The Lego Me this week because of the loss of internet. I needed the internet to download a photo-stitching software to create panoramas for environment mapping. And since there's no internet for the whole week, I wasn't able to download one. But even if the internet's absent, I did create some awesome things for The Lego Me, like;

THE MUSIC!!! You will have to wait for the final video to hear it.

And also...

Some render tests! I was actually torn between rendering it in normal Blender Render and rendering it in Cycles. Normal Blender render would give me these results:

It may not look that good but it can look better with a better light set-up. I also prefer it over Cycles Render because it reduces the chances of my laptop crashing.

However when I tried Cycles Render, I can't help but be tempted to use it because of the awesome results I got from it.

Just look at that beauty.....

So beautiful.....

This still needs a lot of work but this is the reason why I want to download a photo-stiching software: to create the spherical environment that I can then use to get the proper lighting and reflection for the CG object. As you can see it almost blended to the background which is my room. You can see in my recent vlogs that I've been using that background.

I even animated it and did a test render in Cycles:

 

It looks awesome, right? XD And my laptop didn't crash. It turns out that I just have to set it to the right settings to get an awesome render and reduce the chances of crashing.

So after the render tests, I ended into a decision of using Cycles for rendering.
